“I got $5 on it” fundraising drive

From PCBA organizer Tauhid Chappell

As organizers of the Philadelphia CannaBusiness Association prepare to launch several campaigns to raise awareness of the impending legalization of cannabis in Pennsylvania, we’ll be fundraising money to help not only support our efforts in establishing PCBA as the go-to enterprise center for cannabis businesses and equitable cannabis policy, but to also reinvest that money into our members, local businesses and community services that are fighting to reverse the negative impacts of the War on Drugs.

We realize we can’t do this alone, and we need your help. Specifically, $5.

As we organize our membership protocols, responsibilities, application for PCBA consideration and more, we recognize that in a city like Philly, $5 can go a long way.

That’s why we’re asking you to put $5 on us to help support our mission and cause here in Philadelphia.

What does $5 actually cover? Well, with your help, it will help cover expenses related to:

  • Professional consulting services like attorneys, CPAs and membership expansion/retention experts.

  • Merchandise and other forms of apparel and wearables for brand awareness.

  • Website support.

  • Launching our membership program and covering membership dues, which will start at $5.

  • Covering speaker fees.

  • Covering travel and tabling for us at events.

  • Compliance fees to maintain our nonprofit status (we have a pending 501(c)6 status).

Currently, we’re hoping to raise at least $5,000 through generous donors. supporters and future members of our mission.
